The Atoma Tsuboman Diamond Sharpening Plate #140 is a replacement abrasive sheet designed to be mounted on an Atoma aluminum base. With its coarse #140 grit, it is intended for heavy stock removal, edge repair, geometry correction, and flattening of waterstones. It is widely used by professional sharpeners, knife enthusiasts, and craftsmen working with cutting tools.

The working surface is coated with precisely distributed diamond abrasive particles that provide fast and consistent cutting performance. Unlike conventional waterstones, the plate maintains its flatness throughout use and does not require periodic resurfacing. This ensures reliable results during sharpening and restoration work.

The #140 grit is particularly effective for repairing chipped edges, thinning blades, modifying edge geometry, and preparing tools for subsequent sharpening stages. It is also highly regarded as a stone flattening tool, allowing quick and efficient restoration of waterstone surfaces.

Diamond abrasive technology enables efficient work on both traditional carbon steels and modern high-alloy powder metallurgy steels. The plate performs exceptionally well on wear-resistant steels such as ZDP-189, HAP-40, and SG2/R2, where conventional abrasives often work more slowly.

As a replaceable abrasive component, the plate offers a cost-effective way to maintain an Atoma sharpening system without replacing the entire assembly. Its lightweight and slim construction make it practical for storage and transport while delivering the durability expected from Tsuboman products.

  • Retains its shape and does not wear out or dent during use
  • Lower grit sizes (#140 and #400) are ideal for flattening sharpening stones
