The Makoto Kurosaki "Sakura" Tsuchime Bunka 180 mm SG2 is a versatile Japanese Bunka knife designed for precise preparation of vegetables, meat and fish. Its distinctive pointed Bunka profile offers excellent control for detailed cutting tasks while maintaining the versatility expected from an everyday kitchen knife. The 180 mm blade provides an ideal balance of agility and cutting performance for both home and professional kitchens.
The blade is forged with an SG2/R2 powder steel core, renowned for its exceptional wear resistance, long edge retention and fine grain structure. The stainless steel core and stainless cladding provide excellent corrosion resistance and make the knife easy to maintain for everyday use.
The blade features a Tsuchime hammered finish that gives it a distinctive handcrafted appearance while helping reduce food sticking during slicing. Combined with the refined blade geometry and double bevel edge, it delivers smooth cutting performance and excellent precision. The Sakura series reflects Makoto Kurosaki's focus on lightweight construction and refined craftsmanship.
The traditional octagonal cherry wood handle provides a secure and comfortable grip while complementing the knife's elegant Japanese design. Weighing only 119 g, the knife feels exceptionally light, well balanced and effortless to control during extended food preparation.
