The #2000 Grit Stone from the Shapton Kurokami Professional Series is suitable for regular sharpening of kitchen knives. It can also be used to finish and perform polishing on the cutting edge.
One of the hardest and best sharpening stones, Shapton Kuromaku Professional is perfect for every user. Unlike competing stones, they do not wear out as quickly and do not require as frequent flattening. They can be successfully used to work with hard steels, such as R2 or ZDP-189.
Thanks to the fact that Kuromaku sharpening stones are “Splash and Go,” they do not absorb as much water as stones from other brands. This advantage directly translates into convenience of use, as there is no need to soak these stones before use – just moisten them. Before using a new stone for the first time, it is recommended to soak it for 5 minutes.
Kuromaku Professional Stones are quick to sharpen and collect steel. The stones wear down very little, so there is no need for flattening on a frequent basis. Kuromaku Professional Ceramic Stones are made from carefully selected ceramic and abrasive materials. Each stone is packaged in a matching, practical box. The box also serves as a whetstone holder, which is used during sharpening.
Please note – Kuromaku Professional stones should not be soaked for more than a few hours.
