Miyagoshi PA Flattening Stone #220 – Stone for flattening surfaces
The Miyagoshi PA #220 flattening stone is a specialized tool designed to maintain the flatness of sharpening stones. Manufactured by Miyagoshi Seito (宮越製陶) in Kyoto, it is produced using a vitrification-based sintering process with high porosity, which significantly speeds up and facilitates the flattening of stones – even those that are harder and have a finer grit.
It uses high-quality pink alumina (PA), which ensures even abrasion without the risk of damaging the working surface of the sharpening stones. The stone is safe to use with sharpeners with a grit size above #220, making it a versatile tool in the stone maintenance system.
Application:
The Miyagoshi PA #220 stone is used for:
-
flattening sharpening stones that have become bulged or concave,
-
cleaning and restoring an even working surface,
- improving the efficiency of medium and high-grit stones.
Thanks to its porous structure, it works quickly and aggressively, without clogging or causing excessive wear on the stones being leveled.
Features:
-
handmade in Kyoto – quality control and precision workmanship,
- new, more porous structure – faster and more effective flattening,
-
high-quality pink aluminum oxide (PA) – durable and evenly abrasive,
- safe for stones with a grit above #220,
- hard, stable format – maintains geometry and performance for a long time.
