Shapton Lapping Powder is designed for flattening sharpening stones (Shapton). The bottle is filled with coarse silicon carbide grains. These grains are used in combination with, for example, the Shapton Naoru Lapping System or a glass lapping plate.
Coarse lapping powder is used for flattening sharpening stones with a grit size of 120 to 1000. If you plan to flatten a 1000-grit whetstone, use medium-grit lapping powder. After use, clean the lapping plate thoroughly to ensure that no grains remain.
