Shapton lapping powder is designed for flattening sharpening stones (Shapton). The bottle is filled with medium grit silicon carbide grains. These grains are used in combination with, for example, the Shapton Naoru Lapping System or a glass lapping plate.
Medium-grit lapping powder is used for flattening sharpening stones with a grit of 1000 to 5000. If you plan to flatten a sharpening stone with a grit below 1000, use coarse grit lapping powder. After use, thoroughly clean the lapping plate to ensure that no grains remain.
