The versatile Shapton Kuromaku Professional stone has a grit size of 1000 and is used for regular sharpening and honing the cutting edge.
One of the hardest and therefore best water stones – from the renowned Shapton Kuromaku Professional series. They wear very slowly and do not require frequent flattening. They are ideal for highly hard steels, such as ZDP-189 or R2.
Special Kuromaku sharpening stones, known as “Splash and Go,” do not absorb water like other stones. This means that they do not need to be soaked, but only moistened, before use. Only when sharpening for the first time is it recommended to soak the stone for 5 minutes.
Fast-working Kuromaku Professional Stones quickly remove metal and sharpen. Carefully selected abrasive and ceramic materials are used in the production of these ceramic stones. They are characterized by very high hardness and long-lasting performance without the need for frequent flattening. All Kuromaku Professional Stones are packed in a handy box that can also be used as a stone holder during sharpening.
Please note – the stones should not be soaked in water for more than a few hours.
