The Takamura Gyuto kitchen knife, with a 180 mm blade, is the Japanese equivalent of a classic chef's knife. It is suitable for a variety of kitchen tasks.
The Takamura R2 collection of Japanese knives includes high-quality kitchen knives that are appreciated by many users. The core of these knives is made of R2 (SG2) stainless powder steel, which is extremely hard and therefore ensures a long cutting edge life. It is also not brittle when compared to other powder steels of significant hardness. The outer layers of the blades are made of soft stainless steel, which gives them flexibility. During the heat treatment, they acquire a high level of hardness (62-64 HRC). Hand-sharpened Takamura R2 knives with a hard core and thin blades provide comfort from the very first use. What is more, they have a handle made of red Pakka wood with a full bolster, which is resistant to moisture and virtually indestructible.
