The Masutani Nakiri 165 mm Knife resembles a cleaver in appearance, but unlike a cleaver, it has a thin blade. This makes it ideal for cutting and chopping vegetables.
Masutani knives are made in Fukui Prefecture by a talented blacksmith from Echizen. Their most important advantages are their excellent price–quality ratio and the fact that they can be compared to other, more expensive knives. They have a core made of VG-10 (high-carbon) stainless steel. The outer layers are covered with Damascus steel (31 layers). This gives the blades a very impressive appearance and makes them look beautiful in the kitchen. It is worth noting that, during heat treatment, they achieve a hardness of 61-62 HRC, which also means that they retain their sharpness for a long time. The wooden handle is resistant to moisture and temperature. It is made of Pakka wood. Masutani knives are one of the best options for home cooks and those who are just starting to use Japanese knives.
