The high-quality Higonokami pocket knife is famous all over Japan. It is just as well-known in Japan as the Swiss Army knife is in Switzerland and the rest of the world. The Higonokami design was created in 1896, and its most important feature is the small forged lever used to open the pocket knife (called a "chikiri"). You must carry Higonokami with you every day. It is the best handy tool you can own. You can use it to sharpen pencils, cut fruit, open packages and perform many other tasks.

The universal Higonokami pocket knife is small and simple. It is lightweight yet durable, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The silver version is made of blades with soft iron cladding surrounding a hard SK-5 carbon steel core. The production process also includes heat treatment, which gives the blades a hardness of approx. 59 HRC. The patina that appears on them over time adds elegance and an original look. Japanese Higonokami pocket knives use friction to keep the blade in a fixed, secure position (they do not have a locking system). Remove the blade from the handle by pressing the "chikiri" lever. Use the Higonokami blade by holding your thumb on it. It is crucial to follow the proper care instructions, which are as follows: ensure that it is thoroughly rinsed and dried after each use.
