The excellent #3000 Shapton Glass HR stone is ideal for finishing and polishing cutting edges. Using this stone after regular sharpening gives great results, in the form of incredible knife sharpness. The abrasive grit is 4.9 microns.
The Shapton Glass HR series of sharpening stones includes some of the best sharpening stones, which are also among the hardest. Compared to other stones, they do not wear out as quickly and do not require flattening as often. These are undoubtedly the most advanced sharpening stones offered by Shapton. They can be used on very hard steels, such as R2 or ZDP-189. The advantage of Shapton Glass HR sharpening stones, known as “Splash and Go,” is that they do not absorb water. Unlike competing stones, they are always ready for use – just wet them with water.
Shapton Glass HR ceramic stones enable quick sharpening because they cut steel instantly. During production, they acquire extraordinary hardness and remain in perfect condition for a long time without the need for flattening. They are made of carefully selected ceramic and abrasive materials. All stones in this series have grit markings on the bottom, as well as the size of the abrasive particles, which is expressed in microns. A 5 mm thick glass plate is glued to the bottom of the white ceramic part. It works well as a base that allows you to use the entire thickness of the stone without fear of breaking it.
Shapton Glass HR stones will satisfy all demanding users who appreciate their significantly longer durability, despite their thinness.
