The coarse whetstone from the Shapton Kuromaku Professional Series with a grit of #220 is used to repair damaged knives, nicks, and broken tips. What's more, it removes steel very quickly.
Shapton Kuromaku Professional ceramic stones are considered to be among the best and hardest stones currently available on the market. Compared to the competition, they wear down much less. In addition, Shapton Kuromaku Professional stones do not require frequent flattening.
Reliable Kuromaku stones are “Splash and Go” – they do not need to be soaked before sharpening (just moisten them, and they are ready to use). Each new stone should be soaked for only 5 minutes before first use, and each subsequent time, moistening is sufficient.
Another advantage of Kuromaku Professional ceramic stones is their speed, i.e., their exceptional efficiency in removing metal and sharpening. They are manufactured in a special way, thanks to which they retain their properties without the need for flattening and are very hard. Recommended: Kuromaku Professional ceramic stones are made using perfectly matched ceramic and abrasive materials. The practical box in which each stone is packaged can be used as a holder during sharpening.
Please note – Kuromaku Professional Stones should not be soaked for more than a few hours.
