The Tsunehisa Washiji Kiritsuke 21 cm Oak SLD Knife is a versatile tool that combines traditional Japanese design with modern materials. Kiritsuke is one of the most recognizable knives in Japanese craftsmanship, characterized by a wide blade with a slightly rounded end, making it ideal for cutting vegetables, fish, or meat. Thanks to its design, the knife is perfect for precise cuts, as well as cutting techniques that require a high degree of control.

The blade of the Tsunehisa Washiji Kiritsuke knife is made of SLD steel, which combines the advantages of carbon steel with the easier maintenance characteristic of stainless steel. SLD steel provides high hardness in the range of 61-62 HRC, which translates into long-lasting sharpness and excellent cutting performance. Although the steel is not completely stainless, it is corrosion resistant, but requires proper care, especially after contact with acidic substances. The Nashiji finish on the blade gives the knife a unique appearance, reminiscent of the texture of pear fruit, while also enhancing its durability and protecting it from rust. Combined with the stainless steel cladding, the blade is protected, but still retains the flexibility necessary for precise cutting.

The knife handle is made of smoked oak wood, which not only gives the knife an elegant look, but also provides an excellent grip. The octagonal shape of the handle allows for a secure hold, even during prolonged use. Oak wood, thanks to its hardness and durability, works perfectly with the blade, and the smoking of the wood adds a characteristic dark shade that enhances the aesthetics of the knife. In addition, the handle ensures comfort of use, so that the knife fits perfectly in the hand, even when used for long periods of time.
